Troop 55 Pancake Breakfast, 8-10:30am Saturday April 1st

Come join us for all you can eat pancakes, juice, and sausage. American Legion building just north of 6th Street and Kasold. Success! Pancake Breakfast is over and was a huge success. Thank you to Cory at the American Legion and Mrs. Jakmouj (Asst. Scoutmaster Troop 55) for all their efforts in bringing this together.

PLC – Sunday April 2nd at 1:30pm

Reminder for all patrol leaders, SPL, ASPL, Troop Guides and the Troop Scribe – we will be meeting for PLC at 1:30pm Sunday April 2nd.  We will plan the program for April and discuss future campout ideas!

Nick G. Eagle Court of Honor – Sunday April 9th, 2pm at Burgess Scout Cabin

Nick Guerrero’s Eagle Court of Honor will be held Sunday April 9th, 2pm at the Burgess Scout Cabin. All Troop members invited, please come and celebrate Nick’s attainment of the Eagle Rank.

All troop members should attend in class A’s.

Sea Base Crew returns from the Sea of Abaco, Bahamas

A good time was had by all on the 20 person crew. Sailing, snorkeling, swimming, island hopping, and working as a team all paid off on this Spring Break High Adventure to Sea Base Bahamas. Check out more pictures in the recent photos section.

Josh W. will have his Eagle Court of Honor at the Burgess Scout Cabin on Sunday March 26th at 2pm. All Troop 55 Scouts should attend in full class A’s.

Successful Day for Cooking Merit Badge Kick Off

We had a good time learning about eating healthily and selecting a good meal for a group of people. We completed a decent amount of pages, and will meet again on March 18-20, Campout, Camp Bromelsick….Cooking on a campout (Requirement #5).

PLC Tomorrow Sunday March 12, 2-4pm

Patrol Leader’s Council (PLC) members (SPL, ASPL, patrol leaders and our troop scribe): We will be changing things up for PLC going forward. We will now meet on the first Sunday of each month from 2 – 4pm at the Burgess Scout Cabin. We will have food/snacks and use the expanded time to plan out the program for the month and research future activities. Since both the SPL and Scoutmaster are unavailable tonight we will hold this month’s PLC on Sunday March 12th.

Cooking Merit Badge Info. – Badge Work Starts March 11, 1-3pm

Cooking MB has 4 parts: Cooking at Home (#4), Cooking on a Campout (#5), Cooking on the Trail (#6), and classroom information (#1, 2, 3, 7).

Agenda:

Saturday, March 11, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm, Cabin….Prep with parents present for first 15 minutes (#4), planning for cooking on a campout (#4), and classroom (#1, 2)

March 18-20, Campout, Camp Bromelsick….Cooking on a campout (#5)

Monday, March 27, regular meeting at Cabin….Planning for cooking on the trail (#6)

Saturday, April 8, TBD (mid-morning to late afternoon), George Latham Trail, Clinton Lake….Cooking on the trail (#6) and classroom (#3, 7).

Scouts who are not available for the March campout or trail cooking in April, should attend the planning session(s) and get menu planning completed.  At the next campout/trail opportunity, the scout will cook the planned meals/menus to complete that requirement.
Sign-up sheet is posted at the cabin.  There is NO cost for Cooking MB; however, there is a $20 quartermaster fee for the March campout if the scout is attending the campout.
