No Meeting July 4th – Independence Day. Celebrate safely Scouts!

Swim Practice Tonight for Summer Camp 6:30-8:00

Don’t forget you can work on the BSA Swim Test and get ready for the Life Saving Merit Badge Swim or Mile Swim tonight with help from older Scouts.

When: 6:30-8:30

Where: at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center.

 BSA Swimmer Test

• Jump feet first into water over the head, level off, and begin swimming.
• Swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: side, breast, trudgen, or crawl. Swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke.
• The 100 yards must be completed without stops and must include at least one sharp turn.
• Rest by floating…Long enough to demonstrate ability to rest when exhausted.

Meeting Agenda for Monday the 27th of June, 2016

Bartle Info. for parents and Scouts alike. All merit badge info. will be dispensed then and the timeline for Bartle load up, what to bring, paper work etc. will be covered. Everyone going to Bartle should attend. 2. We will be finishing the final requirement for Textiles Merit Badge (this will be entertaining and fun) all 20 boys who attended the campout will finish the merit badge as long as they attended the weaving meeting.

Monday June 13th: Regular Meeting 7pm

 

 

 

Agenda:  Bartle Merit Badge Pre-Req completion night! Kick Ball and Ultimate Frisbee inter patrol competitions in field, Campout clean up/trailer unloading (for those that attended Watkins Mill Campout), straighten up Cabin after electrical work (all Scouts who did not attend campout).

June 11 Saturday – hike to Mill, tour museum and 1850’s farmstead. Campfire in evening and finish up Textiles Merit Badge.

June 12 Sunday – Break Camp 9am = Return Westlake Parking Lot 11:00 am

Nice job Scouts! The boys even got to meet and talk with one of our local WWII veterans at the concert.

Cub Day Camp

Special thanks to the Scouts and Scouters from Troop 55 that are helping with Cub Day Camp this year! Reed, Colton, Keegan, Mr. Gates, and Mr. Burdick. Those little guys think you older Scouts are awesome!

PLC 6pm – SPL, ASPL’s, Patrol Leaders, Quartermasters, Troop Guides and Troop Scribe must attend.
Troop Meeting 7pm – Patrol Meetings and menu planning for Watkins Mill Campout June 10-12. Campout Prep, Bring 10$ for Quartermaster fees plus 6.25$ for Scouts for camping fees and tour of mill. Adults are 7.25$ plus 10$ Quartermaster fees.
