Troop Swim Meeting next Monday at the Indoor Aquatic Center 6:30 – 8:45

Next Monday’s meeting 6/29/15 is a troop swim at the free state pool. 6:30pm to close (8:45). $3 per Scout to enter. We will be covering 2nd class requirements 8a, 8b, and 8c. We will also do first class requirements 9b and 9c.

Bartle Attire – Pink Troop 55 T-shirts and Cowboy Hats

The vote is in and it will be pink Troop 55 t-shirts and cowboy hats at Camp Bartle this summer. That is the actual hat in the picture that we are ordering. Hats will be $3 each if you want to get one or you can buy or bring your own style cowboy hat.

Troop Meeting 7pm

If you have not finished up your Citizenship in the Nation, bring your packets tonight to work with the counselors. Also if you have not signed up for Merit Badges at Camp you need to get this done tonight as well. First years and parents meet in the Church Hall for a pre-Bartle meeting. Kick ball is on the agenda as well.

Troop 55 Boys raise the flag for Lawrence City Band Concert Again

Nice job again Scouts! Robbie, Ben, George, Hunter, and Drake raised the flag for the Lawrence City Band Concert at South Park last night. Thank you to the City of Lawrence for having these concerts and for asking Troop 55 to raise the flags. Lead Scouts Robbie and Ben kept the team organized and did a fine job even with a humidity shortened halyard (rope) to tie off.

Swim Practice for Summer Camp Swim Test & Lifesaving M.B. this Thursday 6pm

Don’t forget that Luke is running swim practice to get ready for the BSA Swimming Test at Bartle and also for those of you taking Lifesaving Merit Badge to get some laps in and help the younger boys. You can stay and swim after practice as long as you want. Cost is 3$

According to the SPL, Blake, we are cleaning up from the Family Campout, finalizing Bartle Merit Badges, finishing merit badges for some of you, and doing some knot tying activities. Bring any incomplete merit badge info. you may have and brush up on your knots.

 

Family Campout Today! Clinton Lake 2pm

Don’t forget if your family signed up to come on out to Clinton Lake after 2pm – Bloomington East Campgrounds – Group-campsite Campsite Elm for dinner and camping. Bring rain gear it might or might not get wet today!

Congratulations New OA Ordeal Members

Last night at Camp Naish Troop 55 and Tamegonit Lodge added 10 new Ordeal members to the Order of the Arrow. Congratulations Scouts (Andrew, Ben, Nick, George, Ian, Noah, Colton, Joe, Avery) and Scouter (Brad)! Thanks to the Arrowmen that showed up to welcome them into OA.
