Monday March 2 – Welcome New Scouts! PLC 6pm / Regular Troop Meeting 7-8:30


Welcome new first years to Troop 55!

PLC 6pm – SPL, all new ASPL’s, new Troop Scribe, all new Patrol Leaders, and all new Quartermasters attend.

7 – 8:30 Regular Troop Meeting

Agenda:  Icebreaker activity to meet the new Scouts, new patrols will meet to discuss the upcoming Ha Ha Tonka Campout, completion of Citizenship in World, Citizenship in the Nation, Cooking, and Family Life Merit Badges will be done on individual basis with counselors as available. OA members meet to discuss upcoming Tap Out Ceremony.


Ha Ha Tonka Campout, March 13 – 16, Spring Break

  • Cost is $4 per Scout for camping, plus what your patrol meal costs will be.
  • Don’t forget to eat breakfast at home on Saturday morning, and then bring a sack lunch from home for lunch.
  • Fuel cost is paid for by the Kanwaka Service Patrol’s work this year!!! Good job Scouts!!!
  • Agenda for campout:
Friday March 13 (7pm) quartermasters load trailer with troop gear
Saturday March 14 (7am) load personal gear/food and leave for Ha Ha Tonka
Sunday March 15 (all day) see the sites of Ha Ha Tonka (hiking involved)
Monday March 16 (4pm) head for home, bring $ for dinner on the road (think Wendy’s, etc.) arrive at Westside appx. 8pm.
  • Our campsite is in special use area: campsite B, there is a vault toilet, picnic tables, a large fire pit, and gravel parking lot. Firewood is free, we just need to pick it up at the Ranger office.
It’s gonna be great!!!

Meeting February 23: Troop Elections

This a very important and busy meeting. Both Troop and OA Elections take this meeting, so do not forget to attend. If you are running for SPL or ASPL prepare a 2 minute or less speech for your position to present either tomorrow or next Monday.

Also to those who are in one of the three merit badges, don’t forget to bring your worksheets.

New Patrols!

Five new patrols were sorted out tonight! Hopefully everyone is happy with their new patrol! If there are any major problems remember to talk to the senior patrol staff and they will try to help you. We will create names and figure other things out at the next meeting, as well as troop elections. Don’t forget to attend if you want to run for a position.

Regular Troop Meeting Monday 16th: New Patrols

We create new Patrols tomorrow night so make sure you are at the meeting or tell someone which friends you cannot live without in your Patrol.

This will be a very busy meeting. Both Troop and OA Elections take place next week after this meeting. If you are running for SPL or ASPL prepare a 2 minute or less speech for your position to present either tomorrow or next Monday.

Also, make sure to bring your Cit. in the Nation, Cit. in the World, and Family Life Merit Badge work with you! There will be some final class time with those counsolers after Patrol selection.

Troop Leader Training Sat. Feb 14th 8-noon


Troop Leader Training will be held at the Cabin from 8 to noon this coming Saturday Feb 14th. Only those who have not had the training need to attend if they wish to run for a Position of Responsibility in the Feb. 23rd Elections.

Scout Sunday Feb 15th



Reminder, all Troop Members should attend Scout Sunday at Westside Presbyterian this coming Sunday 9 a.m. We set up the social hour, then socialize, then have the service. Everyone in class A’s

Food  and drinks by patrols for coffee hour:

Bob Whites = orange juice or apple juice

Cougars = bring a Danish (cherry, strawberry, apple, etc.)

Cobras = bring donuts (no more than a dozen each)

Wolves = styrofoam cups  and plastic cutlery
